ALPFA Tampa Bay and Prospanica Tampa Bay kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month, and I finally showed up to one of these. Ilka Rodriguez’s story about almost changing majors on a college counselor’s advice, and staying true to herself instead, hit close to home: the pressure on first-generation Latinos to succeed without the map. Degrees Sin Barreras platform went live
